Uzbekistan is strategizing to decrease its reliance on oilseed imports for oil refinery processes, as highlighted at the Asia Grains & Oils Conference in Tashkent-2022. The country has progressively increased its oilseed cultivation areas, with a notable rise from 275 thousand hectares in 2021 to an anticipated 317 thousand hectares in 2022. The sown areas are projected to reach 327 thousand hectares in 2023 and 335 thousand hectares in 2024, leading to higher oilseed harvests each year. Oybek Zufarov, Chairman of the Association of Oil and Fat Enterprises of the Republic of Uzbekistan "Uzyogmoysanoat", announced these initiatives, underscoring the nation's commitment to reducing imports by enhancing domestic production.
