Vietnam's banana industry has a large production volume but insufficient value, facing pressure to transition to standardized, green, and high-tech production. On July 18, the Vietnamese Ministry of Agriculture held a forum to discuss the export issues of bananas and other advantageous fruits. According to statistics from the Vietnam Plant Protection Department, the largest banana cultivation areas currently include the Mekong Delta region (39,000 hectares), the Southeast region (25,000 hectares), the northern and central mountainous areas (26,100 hectares), and the Red River Delta region (21,900 hectares). The average banana yield is 207.3 quintals per hectare (20.7 tons), with the highest yield in the Southeast region reaching 344.8 quintals per hectare, reflecting the relatively high level of investment and technology in this area.
