Vietnam's seafood exports in December 2022 saw a 13% decrease from the previous year, but the first 10 months of 2022 saw growth, reaching 11 billion USD, a 24% increase from 2021. The country is the third largest seafood exporter in the world, accounting for over 7% of the global market share. The exports consisted of shrimp, pangasius, tuna, and other fish products, with the China & Hong Kong and ASEAN markets showing positive growth. However, the world economy's recession and inflation are expected to decrease seafood import demand in 2023, with a potential market recovery in the second half of the year.
