Vietnam's cashew exports exceed US$4 billion, with exports to China up 14%

In 2017, Vietnam's cashew exports exceeded US$3 billion for the first time. Modern machinery has been put into the process of processing raw cashews into export cashew kernels, which basically replaces manual labor. The processing capacity has reached about 2 million tons/year and continues to grow rapidly. Overall, Vietnam still mainly exports low-value pre-processed cashew kernels, and finished cashew kernels purchased directly by consumers have not yet been developed. Therefore, Vietnam only accounts for about 30% of the cashew industry value chain.
