Despite the Covid-19 pandemic negatively affecting Vietnam's tuna export values, with overall decreases except for canned tuna which saw a 23% increase between January and August, the market dynamics are mixed. The United States and Israel have shown significant growth in imports of processed and canned tuna from Vietnam in August, with increases of 5.2% and 238% respectively. Conversely, exports to the European Union and Japan experienced declines, mainly due to the pandemic's impact on demand. However, the EU market remains strong for Vietnam as it expects tariff preferences under the EVFTA Agreement. The average export prices for tuna products vary by market, highlighting the diverse demand and pricing strategies in these markets.
