Vietnam is the world's sixth largest coffee producer with a area of 709.6 thousand hectares in 2022, and has the highest coffee productivity in the world. The country exported 1.72 million tons of coffee in 2022, generating a revenue of 3.95 billion USD. However, the coffee industry is facing challenges such as climate change, land degradation, and disease, which have resulted in the need for sustainable and smart farming practices. The 'Smart coffee farming adapting to climate change' program has been initiated by Binh Dien Fertilizer Joint Stock Company in collaboration with other institutions to promote sustainable farming and increase coffee resilience in the Central Highlands.
