Wando-gun, Jeollanam-do held a 'Helping Wando Abalone Producers' event to sell 11,273 kg of abalone, generating around 320 million won, to assist fishermen affected by decreased consumption and damage from high temperatures and typhoons due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The event attracted participation from city officials with a sisterhood relationship with the county, as well as the Association of Abalone Producers. Additionally, the county is strengthening its 'untact marketing' efforts, including advertising on TV and radio, and planning a Chuseok holiday sales event in collaboration with large online shopping malls like Naver and the Post Office, in response to the shift towards online consumption.
