Boğazköy Dam in BURSA, Turkey, which irrigates a significant portion of the country's vegetable production in Yenişehir Plain, has run dry due to drought. The $105 million dam, built in 2005 and capable of irrigating 11,187 hectares, now only has enough water for fish to survive. This drought has left farmers in a difficult situation, with reduced water availability for their crops. The lack of rainfall and increasing drought conditions have compounded the problem, causing crops to dry up and forcing farmers to leave their produce in the field.
