Bulgaria's Cabinet has approved the country's stance for the November 18, 2024, Council of the European Union meeting in Brussels, focusing on agriculture and fisheries. The key issues to be discussed include the effect of the Russian invasion of Ukraine on agricultural markets. Bulgaria is experiencing challenges in its egg and honey markets due to significant imports from Ukraine. Despite existing EU protective measures, Ukrainian honey prices remain low, threatening the local honey market. Consequently, Bulgaria plans to propose the implementation of more protective measures under Art. 4, paragraph 1 of the Autonomous Trade Measures for Ukraine (ATM) Regulation.
