Wheat: harvest accelerates and maintains productivity estimate

The Conjunctural Report released by Emater/RS-Ascar this Thursday (27) points to an accelerated advance in the wheat harvest in Rio Grande do Sul. According to the survey, 88% of the cultivated area has already been harvested, a result of the sequence of dry days and winds that kept the grains dry and allowed for a continuous pace of operations. According to the document, "the productivity obtained in the period was slightly below previous periods, but is confirmed to the initial estimate." The analysis highlights that there is a strong regional variation, influenced by the technological level employed and the occurrence of adverse weather, with productivities between 2,000 kg/ha and 4,000 kg/ha. The quality of the grain showed a slight reduction in areas where the spikes were more exposed to moisture.
