The Biobío Region in Chile experienced a significant decrease in wheat milling by 12.7%, totaling 13,743 tons in February, as reported by the National Institute of Statistics. This decrease was due to a lower processing of wheat by-products, contributing to a overall national decrease of 4.4% in wheat processing, totaling 139,579 tons. The region also saw a decrease of 7.8% in wheat product production, accounting for 9.8% of the national production, while the processing of wheat by-products also decreased by 42.4%.
