In Kozan district of Adana, farmers have begun planting wheat seeds. Farmer Adil Eker, who is planning to produce wheat, corn, and sunflower on a total area of 500 acres in Kozan and has started planting the season's first wheat, said they began planting by taking advantage of the moist soil and the expected rainfall in the region on a 50-acre area. Eker said, "We planted the first wheat with the Çukurova soil on 50 acres. We are planting in the period between the first and second rains. Costs have doubled. If we get 600 kilos per acre, it will be bountiful for us. If there is drought, our job will be difficult. We must produce, otherwise there will be no bread, no labor." Producer Seçkin Diliçıkık pointed out that this year is also dry and mentioned that they believe the "cloud seeding" devices, which are claimed to be used in some areas, affect the rainfall. Diliçıkık said, "It is going to be very dry. Unfortunately, the rainfalls of my childhood are gone. Nevertheless, we are in the fields with our tractors for production."
