A decree expected to expedite beef exports to China, particularly using stock not consumed locally, has not yet been published in the Official Gazette despite an agreement between the new Agriculture Minister, Julián Domínguez, and the Liaison Table leaders for its implementation on October 4. The delay is attributed to the need for considering export performance and the conditions of meat processing plants. The accumulation of about 50 thousand tons of meat in refrigerators has led to increased maintenance costs, resulting in higher export prices for some meats and lower prices for livestock for producers.
