They specialize in oil and cake extraction services, working with castor seed, soybeans cottonseed and groundnut for industrial and retail purposes. The company stores and packs the finished soyabean oil in 200 kg drums and 20 MT flexitanks. To avoid storage problems, oil for export or long-term storage is degummed. Water degumming removes the major part of the phosphatides, which may be recovered as lecithin or returned to the meal. The product is ready for shipment in 7 days from the date of order confirmation. The days can vary depending on the quantity of the order. Efugo Extractive Industry's quality control for the crude soy oil production begins from the measures they put in place in acquiring the soybean and goes down to the point of extraction.

The quality procedures for oil production include:

- Seed Acquisition: To have a high-quality product, the company has out growers who grow a specified variety of soybean seed using the planting guidelines provided by the company

- Cleaning: The soya beans from the farm are not used directly. They are first stored in the winnowing chamber where it will be dried and clean in 3 stages which includes destoning before it is now conveyed into the factory for oil extraction

- Production Process: Production process for every production is relatively constant and consistent. There is a standard operation procedure (SOP) to be followed, so even with a change of personnel, quality is not affected. The SOP is being reviewed from time to time for improvement in quality.

- Testing: On every production, the products are tested in a worldwide recognized lab. The company looks at the water and sediment content, density, acid number and iodine value of the soil.

The company has a Certificate of Incorporation document given by the companies' regulation agency in Nigeria as evidence of the existence of the company.

Efugo Extractive Industry has an average production yield of 2700 metric tons per year. The harvest season of soybean in Nigeria in September. The soybean pods are harvested at maturity and timely harvesting was done to ascertain excessive yield loss. Harvesting is done when 85% of the pods turn brown after which they are stacked closely on a collector and allowed to dry in the open for 2 weeks before threshing.

The soybean is cultivated in the Northern Guinea Savanna of Nigeria with a rainfall of 700 mm and well-drained loamy soil of 4.5 to 8.5 Ph. The land was properly cleared and seedbed prepared with a tractor. The variety of soybean planted is Striga control TGX 1448-2E with medium maturing, high yield, low shattering, high oil content, excellent grain colour capabilities. Company's Crude Soybean oil is extracted through solvent liquid transfer. Soybeans are cleaned, cracked, dehulled and conditioned into a thin flake before they enter the extractor. Extraction is by successive, counter-current washes of hexane solvent. The extracted flakes are then carried by a sealed conveyor to be desolventizing in enclosed vessels by application of jacket and sparge steam. Hexane is removed from the oil in rising film evaporators and with final vacuum distillation. Hexane is recovered from the meal and the oil in atmospheric condensers. The processed oil is then debugged and stored in drums and flexitanks.

Soybean oil is a vegetable oil that’s extracted from the seeds of the soybean plant. The oil is a complex mixture of five fatty acids (palmitic, stearic, oleic, linoleic, and linolenic), all of which have different melting points and oxidative stabilities. Crude Degummed Soybean Oil (CDSO) is pure but inedible soybean oil produced from fair to average quality crude soybeans. The majority of the free fatty acids and gums naturally present in soybeans are removed by hydration and mechanical or physical separation.
