Brazil: In the State of São Paulo, live chicken prices remain the same stability as most of the year

“The internal supply of poultry products was controlled throughout this month and there were few movements involving larger acquisitions of batches of animals by slaughterhouses”, says the ESALQ/USP body. In reality, live chicken has maintained in the last three months practically the same stability observed in the five months between January and May of this year. In other words: there have been, until now, eight months of stable prices, a situation only interrupted in the June/July two months, when the price of the product fell to 2021 values. In both June and July, live chicken from São Paulo was traded (on average) for the same price: R$4.44/kg. In the other eight months of 2023, the recorded average is around R$4.90/kg, with variation below and above the average of just over 1% – range of 3%.
