In W22, in the jackfruit landscape, Vietnam's Mekong Delta jackfruit price on June 2, 2023, declined by USD 0.043-0.085/kg compared to June 1, representing a drop for the second day in a row. The price of super early Thai jackfruit in Tien Giang province, grade 1, was less than USD 0.47/kg, type 2 ranged between USD 0.30-0.34/kg, and grade 3 ranged between USD 0.13-0.21/kg. Additionally, on June 4, Thai jackfruit prices dropped by USD 0.043-0.085/kg, almost equal to the price that hit the bottom in the same period in 2022. The area of super-early Thai jackfruit in Tien Giang province has increased significantly, increasing production volumes, but the export market to China is slow, leading to a price drop. However, the price of jackfruit in the Mekong Delta is expected to increase in the next harvest season due to low production. In the last 3 years, farmers in Tien Giang province have rapidly developed the area of commercial jackfruit trees, which are fast-growing, high-yielding, and low-cost. Jackfruit trees currently occupy about 15K hectares in the province, second only to durian trees, of which Cai Be district has the largest area with more than 8K hectares. Lastly, from June 3 to 4, Mangaluru's "Halasu Habba," or jackfruit festival, took place for the sixth consecutive year in India. The festival showcases mainly three varieties of jackfruit, including Chandra Halasu, Rudrakshi, and Yekadash. The Chandra Halasu variety of jackfruit has more demand in Mangaluru.
