In W32 in the oats landscape, in Russia, oat cultivation fell short of expectations, with the Ministry of Agriculture projecting 2.2 million hectares (ha) but Rosstat indicating 1.9 million ha (compared to 2.17 million ha from the previous year). In Primorsky Krai, farmers managed to harvest wheat from 2 thousand ha, barley from 4.3 thousand ha, and oats from 2 thousand ha from their fields, accounting for 22% of the planned area. Meanwhile, in the Amur region, spring oats for seeds were cultivated across 10,151 ha as of August 1.

In Kazakhstan, the oats sown area for 2023 has increased to 216.36 thousand ha from 198.7 thousand ha in 2022. Lastly, the Ministry of Agriculture in Kyrgyzstan is considering a temporary export ban by the end of 2023 on barley, wheat, rice, oats, and livestock feed to prevent potential domestic supply challenges. This measure is being considered due to adverse weather conditions causing a decrease in fodder crop yield compared to the previous year.
