Spanish Mandarin Price Continues Rising Due to High Demand and Low Supply (Feb 15)

The demand for Spanish mandarins continues to be high, and this, together with the shortage in 2023, is causing field prices to rise. The field price at the end of December for the Nadorcott and Tango varieties stood at USD 0.70/kg. This price has been increasing weekly and is currently at USD 1.18/kg in W7. The leafy fruit campaign for export is expected to last another month. From then on, the fruit will be exported without a leaf as the conditions will no longer be optimal to maintain the leaf.

Peru

Peruvian mandarin exports decreased 17% in volume and 21% in value in 2022 (Feb 17)

In Peru, the shipments of fresh mandarins experienced a sharp drop in both volume and value during 2022. The shipments of mandarin reached 351,780T valued at USD 34M. These figures were 17% and 21% lower than those obtained in 2021, respectively. The value of various products in the country's agricultural export basket continues to decline as a result.

Brazil

Price of Spanish Organic Mandarins During W6 for the Brazilian Market (Feb 14)

In W6, the harvest season of Spanish organic mandarins has started, and is offered to the Brazilian market at USD 11.25/10kg box (EUR 10.50/10 kg box), for CAT1, CIF-Santos. The competitive price of Organic Mandarins has stalled imports of Egyptian Murcott mandarins from W6 to the Brazilian market.
