Low Harvest of Italian Beetroots yet High Demand caused Prices to Soars

The wholesale price of Italian beetroot escalated by +55.41% YoY. The price of beetroot in Italy stood at USD 1.02 per kg in W2 February 2022, which was USD 0.66 per kg in the same period a year earlier. Italian beetroot production in 2021 was disrupted led to reduced supply. At the same time, high demand in Germany as the main importer of Italian beetroot resulted in the price to rise in W2 Feb 2022.
