The wholesale price of fresh nectarine in Spain dropped 59.55% YoY to USD 1.20/kg in W2 of July-22, compared to USD 2.97/kg. Since it is the peak of the early and mid-early nectarine harvest, the ample supply pushed the price down progressively. The reasons for the price drop are the reduced demand on the domestic market due to the decline in the purchasing power of the population, as well as intense competition with Greece, Italy, Turkiey, and France, which recorded an increase in the nectarine yield compared to 2021.
