Sugar prices in Brazil increased by more than 30% YoY. The spike occurred around June to November and managed to reach 0.60 USD/KG. Extreme weather has significantly damaged production and has sent sugar prices in Brazil soaring. This appears to be affecting other markets such as Ukraine, where the price even rose by almost 50% YoY and settled at 0.94 USD/KG in the fourth week of November 2021. Undeniably, price fluctuations in Brazil have succeeded in influencing the price situation in many other sugar-producing countries.
