Tanzanian Corn Prices Increased 112% YoY in November, Primarily Due to a Rise in Production Costs

Tanzania's average wholesale price of corn jumped by more than 112% YoY in November, from USD 20.5/100 kg bag in 2021 to USD 43.5/100 kg bag in 2022. This is due to the rise in operations costs, especially fertiliser costs, and low rainfall that resulted in low yields.
