Goiás maintains high productivity in the second corn crop

According to the October edition of the monthly report “Agro em Dados,” prepared by the State Secretariat of Agriculture, Livestock and Supply of Goiás (Seapa), the productivity of the safrinha corn has been showing advances since the 2022/23 crop. During this period, Goiás has consolidated itself as the second most productive state in the country, with an average of 6.4 tons per hectare in the 2024/25 crop. The second crop has a strategic role for the state, with highlights for Rio Verde (Goiás) and Jataí (Goiás), which occupy the third and fifth positions in the national ranking of production and harvested area. With the harvest concluded in the country, producers are maintaining caution in negotiations due to the downward pressure on prices, influenced by the ample global supply resulting from satisfactory harvests in the main producing countries.
