Fish have been smiling for more than a century. Mr. Chr was the founder of Amanda Seafoods. In 1916, Hansen used the trademark 555 in Kerteminde.In Denmark, the company was one of the first to produce canned seafood.

Amanda Seafoods first offered boneless herrings and canned fish balls.

Since only a small portion of the best cod roe at the time was industrially exploited, the concept of canned cod roe first emerged in the middle of the 1950s.Mr. Finn Tengberg-Hansen, Mr. Chr.'s descendant, Hansen experimented with the boiled cod roe, which solidified when heated. This marked the beginning of Amanda's canned cod roe. a commercial success in Denmark and elsewhere.

Amanda Seafoods is now located in Frederikshavn, which is in the far north of Denmark, close to the well-known town of Skagen. In sales, quality/development, production, and warehouse, we have 75 dedicated employees.

Amanda Seafoods became a part of Insula, the Nordic seafood group, in January 2017.
