One of the reasons why the price of Water-Smiling Pistachios is cheaper than regular Smiling Pistachios is the method of making them smile. Since these pistachios are artificially made to smile and are exposed to water, there is a possibility of exposure to various fungi, bacteria, and other microbes. This possibility reduces the quality of the pistachio kernel. The key difference between the Water-Smiling Pistachio and the regular pistachio lies in the size of the kernel. Thus, despite being cheaper, the method used to produce Water-Smiling Pistachios may impact their quality.
