China doubles tariff on Australian beef

Australian red meat exports to China have been hit by a 12 percent import tariff, double the level of one week ago.

Australia joins Canada, Arg­entina, Brazil, and Uruguay in attracting the high tariff after exceeding a 179,687-tonne export limit.
