The Ciwidey regency in West Java has now emerged as the biggest producing region for white tea in Indonesia. Aside from its temperature and high ground plantations that are suitable for the development of white tea, the farmers in this regency favor the production of white tea, which is clinically proven to contain more fluoride and flavonoid compared to other tea varieties like black and green tea. Still, due to its higher price compared to other tea varieties at around IDR 1.000.000/Kg, almost all of the production output of white tea from this province is currently allocated for export, with Eastern Asian countries such as Japan and Hong Kong as the main export destinations.
