Bangladeshi mangoes have high demand in International markets

Bangladesh mango exports have been highly successful, generating USD 660,000 in the first three months of the fiscal year 2021-22, a significant increase over the USD 40,000 earned in the same period the previous year, the fiscal year 2020-21. From July to September of the last fiscal year, Bangladesh shipped mangoes to Singapore valued at barely USD 10,000.

On the other hand, Bangladesh exported mangoes to more than 14 nations in Asia and Europe over the same time this year. Even though Bangladesh ranks seventh in the world regarding mango output, the country comes last in terms of export revenues from this delectable fruit. Many nations, including Bangladesh, gain significant sums of foreign cash from mango exports while producing fewer mangoes than Bangladesh. Every year, Bangladesh produces around 1.5 million MT of mangoes, which have a market worth of USD 115.93 billion. However, when compared to the quantity of output, exports are insignificant.
