According to a local exporter, the first batch of 2 tons of fresh pineapple has arrived via air shipment to Australia and complete inspection on March 27, 2021. The import regulation requires Taiwan pineapple to remove the crown and fumigated by Methyl Bromide before the shipment has shortened the shelf life of pineapples. The air shipment has increased the cost of the pineapple and limited the opportunities in the Australian market.
