The Mozambican Government plans to begin another vaccination project targeted at livestock across the country, particularly at cattle. The government will spend US$ 2 million on vaccines for cattle in regions prone to foot-and-mouth disease. The project is conducted in order to fight this disease that considerably hinders the animal production, although posing no threat to the public health. The campaign is expected to last two years and the acquisition of the vaccines is already being conducted.
