Brazil sold melons (Yellow & Golden Reel) for 0.44 USD/KG last November. The price of Brazilian melons has soared since entering May and continues to look higher towards the second half of this year although its value is still volatile. As Brazil is one of the preferred suppliers for European consumers, the limited production is sufficient to reduce its supply to the Netherlands in 2020. In addition, high local demand for Brazilian melons is also driving up prices in the market.
