Myanmar's ministry of commerce launches online licensing system but it still has limitations on product varieties

To prevent the spread of COVID-19 and ensure that some of the import and export business keep running, Myanmar's Trade Department under the Ministry of Commerce has launched the online licensing system for export and import businesses (application, online payment, license certification). But it is still limited to 34 items such as animal feed supplement, vegetable cooking oil, coffee, cement, bird's nest, diesel oil, lubricant, medicines, herbal medicines, vet medicines, and others. Exporters expect the application of other agro-commodities export licenses to be available beginning in May.
