In other to boost food production and avoid a looming food crisis, the world bank is investing in local processors and farmers in Lagos state, Nigeria. The scheme is aimed at attaining large scale production and processing of rice, eggs, poultry and fish and ultimately boost food production. It will also addresses the issue of wholesomeness of food items, reduction in post-harvest losses and improving export opportunities for locally produced commodities. 10,000 farmers in Lagos State are slated to benefit from the World Bank assisted agricultural project.
