Greek Figs Being Less Competitive Due to Weather Extremes

The extreme weather of 2021 - snowstorms/frost of last winter and the protracted heatwave in the summer - had led to a significantly lower harvest yield and a 100% increase of the fig prices from an average of EUR 1.10/kg to EUR 2.20/kg (EXW), rendering Greek figs barely competitive for exports.
