Olive oil purchased by Turkey from Syria re-sold to Italy

Turkey used to purchase olive oil from Syria in order to process and export it in previous seasons which increased the available stock that Turkish olive oil exporters had however, this season the government agency responsible to purchase olive oil from Syria in bulk decided to sell it to Italy which was also suffering from the decline in the olive oil production this season.

As a result, the Turkish olive oil exporters are experiencing even a greater supply shortage in the market and have difficulty in fulfilling orders.
