Pear production in the Lérida region of Spain has been affected by the frosts suffered in April 2022. Producers report losses of between 30-50% of the production. In addition to the drop in volume, they are facing quality problems in terms of the external appearance of the fruit, such as skin defects due to cold damage. This situation has led producers to focus on the local market and reduce the supply destined for export markets for the 2022 campaign.
