Export prices of the Philippines desiccated coconut remain high. The challenges in logistics continue to cause difficulties. Congestion and staff shortage at the ports lead to further delays and 20-foot containers being in short supply. Adding to the difficulties, the coconut fruits processing plant has decreased yielding produce this February. The Omicron variant is spreading increasingly in several islands in the Philippines, but the vaccination rate is significantly low. Several local transport companies had to close down temporarily as too many workers were in quarantine.
