Israel is a major global supplier of Medjool dates, a popular type of date originating from Morocco, with Italy, the US, and other countries being the main consumers. However, an investigation reveals that 75% of the Medjool dates labeled as 'Israeli products' are cultivated using Palestinian resources and labor in illegal Israeli settlements in the West Bank. This situation allows Israel to make substantial profits while Palestinian date growers face restrictions, denying them access to their own land.
