The Haman persimmons shipped this time amount to approximately 10 tons, produced and sorted by the Haman Persimmon Promotion Association and the Dong-Haman Agricultural Cooperative.
The county reported that the Haman persimmons are gaining popularity in Southeast Asia due to their crisp texture and high quality.
The county also plans to export approximately 20 tons of Haman persimmons to the Philippines soon.
The Philippines is recently evaluated to have high potential for market expansion as the demand for Korean persimmons is rapidly increasing.
A county official said, "Haman persimmons have already been recognized for their quality overseas," and "This year, we aim to export on a scale of 100 tons by actively promoting overseas promotion and export cooperation projects to increase farmers' income."
