The Ministry of Food and Drug Safety in South Korea has prevented 106 online posts from selling livestock products and processed foods from countries affected by African swine fever (ASF). The ministry has been monitoring for such posts since August 2018, when a ban on livestock products from ASF-affected countries was implemented. In the first half of this year, the ministry checked 2,271 posts for such sales. The main focus of the monitoring is on livestock products like sausages, hams, and jerky, and processed foods made from non-sterilized livestock products. Africa swine fever has been reported in 62 countries, including 13 Asian countries.
