The Livestock Productivity and Resilience Support (L-PRES) initiative by the federal government will benefit 1.4 million people across the country, with a focus on livestock value chains including cattle, sheep, goat, and poultry. The initiative aims to specifically benefit 40,000 people in Taraba State, with 30 percent of the beneficiaries being women, and will provide extension and animal health services, as well as support for livestock infrastructure development. The L-PRES project is expected to enhance the livelihoods of secondary and pastoral communities, as well as other livestock farmers in the state, and has received the support of the Commissioner of Agriculture and Food Security and the governor.
