Lyudmila Golub, the head of the agricultural enterprise "Avangard," during the III All-Ukrainian Farmers' Forum, organized by the All-Ukrainian Congress of Farmers in partnership with the international humanitarian organization MERCY CORPS, commented to SuperAgronom.com about the problems of this year's harvest of late crops and the conditions for sowing winter crops in the Mykolaiv region. According to her, this year's drought has destroyed a significant part of the crops in many farms in the region. Thus, in the production cooperative, which Lyudmila heads, 160 hectares of sunflower were destroyed by caterpillars, not even harvested. Of what was harvested, there was only one plot where they obtained 120 kg/ha. And on part of this field, experimental plots of 28 hectares with drip irrigation were sown, where, depending on the hybrid, they obtained from 980 kg/ha to 2 t/ha.
