In 2020, Egypt's industrial food exports to Uganda saw a 16% growth, reaching a value of 18 million dollars. Sugar was the primary export to Uganda, making up 36% of the total exports. Other exports included pasta, food for animals, yeasts, grain preparations, frozen potatoes, and dry sweets. The number of Egyptian companies exporting to Uganda in 2020 was 60, with 19 of these companies exceeding $100,000 in exports. The Ugandan market imports palm oils, sugar, animal food, sweets, lollipops, frankincense, margarine, and fish. The Export Council for Food Industries is planning to identify more commodities for export to Uganda for a forthcoming exhibition in June.
