In Hatay, an initiative supported by the Provincial Directorate of Agriculture and Forestry led to the capture of 19,904 puffer fish over an 8-month period to protect biodiversity. The fish, collected from 33 fishermen, were subsequently destroyed. Efforts to catch these harmful fish will continue.
