The Istanbul Chamber of Commerce (İİB) stated that the organization's member companies saw a 30% increase in exports in the first eight months of 2021 compared to the same period in the previous year. The highest value of exports was to Iraq, followed by the USA, Norway, Germany, and the UK. The EU was the region that received the most exports, with a value of 1 billion 330 million dollars. The Istanbul Furniture, Paper and Forest Products Exporters' Association, Istanbul Cereals, Pulses, Oilseeds and Products Exporters' Association, Ship, Yacht and Services Exporters Association, Istanbul Fisheries and Animal Products Exporters' Association, Istanbul Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Exporters' Association, Istanbul Dried Fruits and Products Exporters' Association, and Istanbul Hazelnut and Products Exporters' Association all reported increases in exports. The İİB has also started two new UR-GE projects on 'Digital Transformation and E-Export' for the furniture and paper-cardboard industry.
