The population of Turkey has been left to fish in the seas and lakes.

Minister of Agriculture and Forestry İbrahim Yumaklı said that 83 million fish were released into seas, lakes, and ponds in 2025. Yumaklı stated in a program he attended that Turkey has a high-potential fishing area surrounded by seas on three sides. Pointing out that professional breeding and fishing, which have been increasing in the country in recent years, have reached an export figure of 2 billion dollars, Yumaklı emphasized the importance of knowing the capacity in aquatic products fishing and making production planning accordingly.
