In the past year, Iran imported 375,407 tons of bananas, primarily from Turkey, India, and Ecuador, at a cost of $255.31 million, satisfying 20% of the country's demand. The majority of banana production takes place in Sistan-Baluchestan, with plans to expand plantations by 2,000 hectares in collaboration with the private sector. Meanwhile, Iran exported 884,798 tons of apples to countries like Iraq and Russia, generating $326.67 million. Other tropical fruits such as mango, papaya, and guava are also produced in Sistan-Baluchestan.
