The Ivorian Cashew Association has revised Ivory Coast's raw cashew production forecast for 2024 from 1.25 million tons to 1 million tons due to poor weather conditions. The country, which is responsible for approximately 40% of the world's cashew supply, produced 1.225 million tons in 2023. The association operates 30 cashew processing plants with a total capacity of 350,000 tons. In 2023, the local processing rate of raw cashews was 21%. The Ministry of Agriculture had previously suspended the purchase and export of raw cashews to support the local processing industry, but there is still a shortage of 60,000 tons. China is a key importer of Ivory Coast's cashews.
