Recently, a specialized cargo ship carrying 4,200 tons of New Zealand kiwifruit docked at Dongguan Port. This is the third direct shipment of New Zealand kiwifruit to arrive in the South China region this year.
According to reports, Dongguan has imported 13,000 tons of New Zealand kiwifruit this year, gradually establishing a fruit import logistics network covering the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. After being supervised and inspected by the Shatian Customs under the Huangpu Customs, this batch of kiwifruit entered surrounding warehouses to await distribution, achieving coverage of the Greater Bay Area fresh fruit market within six hours.
The import of this batch of kiwifruit is handled by Dongguan Puyue Supply Chain Co., Ltd. According to Lu Zhan, the company's business manager, kiwifruit is a juicy berry that ripens quickly and is difficult to store for long periods at room temperature. The Shatian Customs conducted inspection operations simultaneously during the unloading process, reducing the overall clearance time for kiwifruit by a quarter compared to previous times, thereby maximizing the preservation of the kiwifruit's freshness and taste.
