According to Yunnan Network, on June 3rd, over 50 tons of high-quality fresh mangoes from Laos arrived in Kunming, China, via the China-Laos Railway's "Lancang-Mekong Express" international freight train. It is reported that this is a new addition to the railway's successful transportation of Southeast Asian tropical fruits like durian and mangosteen.
According to the introduction, the railway department used refrigerated containers throughout the transportation, creating a constant temperature and humidity environment for the mangoes. This batch of mangoes took less than 50 hours to successfully arrive in Kunming from Laos.
The efficient transportation of the China-Laos Railway has greatly enriched domestic consumers' fruit choices and provided solid support for building a logistics hub facing South and Southeast Asia. As of now, the cumulative fruit transportation volume on the China-Laos Railway this year has reached 94,000 tons, a year-on-year increase of 24%.
